a brief history
WE PURCHASED THE HOUSE IN 2021, AND THE HOUSE OF SEVA HASN'T DONE MUCH SINCE.
OVER THE LAST YEAR, I HAVE HAD SOME VERY UNEXPECTED CHANGES IN MY LIFE, AND DURING THIS TIME THE HOUSE OF SEVA HAS HELPED ME. IT HELPED ME BY GIVING ME A DREAM AND SOMETHING TO FOCUS ON.
I OWN THIS HOUSE, NOW WHAT DO I WANT TO DO WITH IT? How can this place be an asset to this crazy, overwhelming world?
honestly, I am still not 100% sure what will become of this house but I have a rough idea of where I'd like to take it.
how the dream was born
a few years ago i discovered the world of yoga, and have recently become a yoga teacher. it wasn't just the physical side, but the history and lifestyle aspects that I felt pulled towards and whilst reading more into this, I came across a word: seva.
seva means selfless service, helping others without expecting anything in return, to put it shortly.
with this new information, I almost instantly decided that I would use this house with the concept of seva in mind.
the dream
my long-term, "anything is possible" dream for the house is to build a community within our land, eventually expanding and buying the land either side of ours.
and animals. all the animals.
living in this community, long or short term, would be holistic healers of a great variation, all helping to maintain the land and animals in unison.
amongst the community, we would offer a holistic retreat for anyone looking for some self healing.
every person offers unique skills, so the offered services within the retreat would vary.
I myself have a fairly strong business background, and would offer unique services helping holistic entrepreneurs launch their business as this has been something I've enjoyed doing in the past and believe I can really help people with, as well as yoga classes.
until the dream is reached, I will be funding the work on the house and building the community through various fundraising methods, details of which can be found here. in this time any voluntary work would be incredible, and if you're interested in helping me out, make sure to head to our Facebook page or send an email to hi@seva.house.
